@Mary: The article didn't say they were out in service, but I was in that hall with them. Heard it first hand from other friends in the hall that they were a car group in field service yesterday; accident was in the 11am hour.

It could be anything from a mechanical issue (there is a recall out now for Toyota's accelerator pedals getting stuck on the floor mats), to a medical issue, to leftover ice from Thursday's winter blast. Most of the ice and snow has melted, but there are shaded areas that are still slick.

SOUTHLAKE — Four people died Saturday after their car flipped over into a six-foot-deep pond in Southlake, police said.
Just before 11:20 a.m. Saturday, the Toyota sedan drove through the intersection of Lonesome Dove Road and Burney Lane, crashed into a metal fence, hit a tree, and landed upside-down in a pond on the grounds of a mansion.
"They came through this stop sign and, from eyewitness accounts, they never slowed down," said neighbor Byron Copeland.
Copeland said the residents of the property raced to try and help. "They were able to get one lady out, and the other three they weren't able to pry the door open to get them out," he said.
Southlake police and paramedics arrived about three minutes later and dove into the water. They rescued one person, and the Grapevine Fire Department dive team helped pull out the others. One was taken to a hospital by air ambulance, and the others were taken by ground.
Monty Hardy, 56, of Southlake and Hadassah Vance, 35, of Euless, died at Baylor Regional Medical Center in Grapevine on Saturday.
Wendy Akion, 38, of Irving and Sharon Ransom, 56, of Grapevine, died early Sunday morning at the same hospital.
Police weren't clear on exactly what led to the tragedy.
"It could be anything from a vehicle malfunction to a driver's error; we don't know," said Southlake police spokesman Officer Roderick Page.

Lots of damage done. Our dear brothers and sisters need to be remembered in our prayers.
The Assembly Hall Apulo received 90% damage, the early hours of Sunday 8th of November due to the weather situation facing the country since last Saturday.
Hurricane Ida, combined with a low pressure system caused much havoc, and the Assembly Hall Enbata suffered the climate.
The landslide (avalanche), occurred at night, when the assembly had already been withdrawn, the meeting was suspended Sunday due to this situation.
We stand here with our brothers in El Salvador, and we join them at this time of sadness

Thought you would like to know what happened to the assembly hall in El Salvador....the pictures speak for themselves....lots of work ahead repairing and cleaning up but you know how the brothers are...it will be spic and span in a jiffy and the assemblies will continue....
It appears that since the landslide occurred at night that there were no injuries...interesting that it occurred AFTER the sessions had finished for the day....mmmmmmmm

No gorillas in paradise!
by TJ - iAmCleared2Land infunny thought this morning, while seeing the movie trailer for robin williams and john travolta's new flick, old dogs.
in the movie, they accidentally end up in the gorilla enclosure at the zoo while trying to rescue a child who is stuck in the zoo after hours.
the trailer shows one of the men being cradled in the arms of the seated gorilla--the actor's "singing" soothes the gorilla.. it occurred to me then that the paradise pictures by the society always have lions and cheetahs and elephants... but no gorillas that i remember!!

It occurred to me then that the paradise pictures by the Society always have lions and cheetahs and elephants... but no gorillas that I remember!! I mentioned it to my wife--she doesn't remember any witness ever mentioning how they looked forward to having a gorilla in the new system.
Random thought! ;-) So, what other wild animals were banned entry to the new system via picture omission by the Society?
P.S.--I'm sure somebody's going to find and post a picture from the Society's publications of a Gorilla In Paradise™, now!
